The Light + Building 2024 event marked a significant rebound in the global lighting and building technology sector, drawing 151,192 visitors, of which 51% were from outside Germany, highlighting the event's international appeal. Despite the absence of previous large exhibitors such as Signify, Louis Poulsen, and FLOS, the event successfully attracted a diverse group of professionals, with a notable presence of North American attendees.
The exhibition featured 2,169 exhibitors, with a substantial 76% coming from outside of Germany.
The 2024 event witnessed a 68% increase in attendance compared to the 2022 edition, demonstrating the event's resilience and rebounding interest. However, the numbers still fell short of the pre-pandemic 2018 figures, which boasted 220,000 attendees.
Event organizers remain optimistic about the future, expecting that the positive reception of the 2024 event will entice more major players to return which could potentially push visitor numbers past the 200,000 mark once again in the 2026 edition.
