USA-China Tariff Truce Offers Temporary Relief to Lighting Industry
In a major development for the global lighting industry, the United States and China have agreed to a 90-day reduction in tariffs. This temporary measure provides welcome relief for manufacturers and importers struggling with recent cost increases.
Tariffs Drop Significantly
Effective 14 May 2025, U.S. tariffs on Chinese imports will fall from 145% to 30%. At the same time, China will reduce its tariffs on U.S. goods from 125% to 10%.The U.S. tariff rate includes a 10% baseline charge and an additional 20% penalty tied to fentanyl enforcement.including many components used in LED systems.
